Frankfurt style of play

I probably speak for many of us when I say that I know absolutely nothing about this team.
Does anyone know what we should expect from them ?
Are they big and direct or like to play ? Do they press or sit? Or, something in the middle. Are they very reliant on a couple players ? Where are they strong or weak?
Great to be looking forward to the biggest couple of games for many many years.

Its not the case that we should underestimate them but we shouldn't think that they beaten a Barcelona that had the "Holy Trinity" - i.e. Messi, Neymar and Suárez. The past reputation of Barcelona was always clouding peoples judgement when it come competing in any European competition. In the end of the day both Frankfurt and Barcelona play with 11 men and we shouldn't be overly perturbed on their past exploits but how we can analyses and exploit their strength and their weakness.

From what I've seen of them and what I've read from pundits and other forums they seem to be pretty strong at the back and have good attackers that play on the break. So very much like us. It could make for a classic or we could cancel each other out. I just hope Zouma's absence doesn't affect us too much.
All we need to do Thursday as a bare minimum is set up the second leg and be in the tie. It will be a huge blow to go to their place almost out of it.
We need to keep it tight. Don't be too open. Don't make mistakes and give ourselves something to grab at their place.

Don't think haaland played in the rangers games which was a boost, but still fair play.
Be surprised if they beat leipzig, as think they may struggle to contain nkunku who is absolutely mustard, but they haven't made the semis for no reason, so good on them.
Think we're clearly a better team than frankfurt, but the centre halves issue is a massive kick in the teeth. Hoping zouma is back for the return leg.
Decent all round team frankfurt similar to us with goals coming from everywhere, can't fucking wait and completely in our own hands.

Barcelona have changed a lot since their abysmal start to the season. They were 8th place in December and are now 2nd. They thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu last month and before losing to Frankfurt had gone 15 games undefeated.
Their recent home defeats to Rayo Vallecano and Cadiz are probably at least partially down to their fans being extremely pissed off with what happened in the Europa League game with Frankfurt taking over the stadium, which in itself probably helped them lose that game.
We don't need to be scared of them, but underestimating them based on a false idea of what Barcelona are currently like isn't a good idea either.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone think Rangers have a decent chance against Leipzig? They beat Dortmund so suppose they must have?

Pundits keep saying "...but they beaten Barcelona ... but they beaten Barcelona...but they beaten Barcelona".
The fact is this "Barcelona" side are not the same side of old. Barcelona were terrible in the group stage of the CL. The worst performance of a 3rd place team in the group stage in the Champions League for 12 YEARS - scoring only TWO GOALS - terrible!
Last night the lost to Rayo Vallecano - the first time Rayo did a League double on them. On top of that they also lost at home to Cadiz - who are in the bottom 4!.
All in all we shouldn't be scared at all with Frankfurt since they beaten a very poor Barcelona side.

Yes....and the game also took place in 'Seville' in-case you missed that was unclear as well.
Beyond Kostic I couldn't name you another player.

I went to their game in Sevilel vs Betis (the night before our one) and watched it amongst the Frankfurt fans who were mental. Orchestrated chanting + singing, but something else.
EF won 2-1, but the game could have been 5-7 as both sides where wide open with full back's pushing on and I'd certainly fancy us to pick them off in a similar way to Lyon.
The stand-out player by a mile was the Serbian no 10 Filip Lostic who played wide left so whoever is working the right flank needs to be switched on.
Will no doubt be back to back 0-0's now.

Reading their forum page it seems that they consider themselves to be very similar to us on most levels (style of play... counter attacking) fanatical fans and inner city working class club. They're not too arrogant looking at their posts (no more than we are) and will do anything to get their hands on a ticket for the away leg at Stratford.
I lived in Germany for years and they were always a bit like .... Palace for me; always there, a bit annoying but never took any more notice.
Having watched some of the Budesliga recently on TV they do seem to prefer a counter attacking style and when in the mood they can score goals.
